Daily Update

Dear Patients

We will try and post daily from now on to reassure you all that we are here to support you all during this difficult and uncertain time.

The one thing you really can do, to help yourselves and others is to stay indoors please. Please, please listen to this advice and do not go out unless it is essential and observe social distancing at all times.

We are reviewing our business continuity plan on a daily basis and are working with other local Practices, known as the Ivel Valley South Primary Care Network (PCN): Lower Stondon, Arlesey and Stotfold, to make plans to continue to deliver services to you all.

Following the Governments announcement yesterday, we have made the decision that in order to provide protection for our staff we will need to make some alterations to the way in which we work.
You can help us to help you by really thinking before you phone our service. Could you contact us in any other way?

Engage Consult – for any queries relating to prescriptions or appointments, medical queries, etc. The full health questionnaire is essential so that the Doctors can make an assessment of your needs, sometimes without the need to phone you! Please allow two – way messaging. This system is also available remotely and can be accessed by Doctors working from home. This could be vital in coming weeks, so please register to use this system.

SystmOne Online – this links directly to your medical record and can again be accessed by Doctors working from home. If you have this, please use it. Log ins for this can be requested via email: Admin.drcakebread@nhs.net

Prescriptions: Use either option above OR email shefford.dispensary@nhs.net

Phones – please save these for the elderly and most vulnerable in our society, those that cannot use any of the above OR have no family that can do the above for them.

Please can you not call the us for the following:

Sick notes

There is a self – isolation note on the government website.
We will get round to all other requests, in turn, we promise, please do not call or email to chase it, we will be in touch when it is ready.

Prescriptions

If you can use the above online methods please do.

Follow up appointments

We do not know when normal service will resume, so please do not call us asking when you can see Dr Baxter! We appreciate that he usually looks after many of you but at this time, we cannot book any appointments so please do not call to ask.

Rescue packs for asthmatics

We have been asked to await central guidance on these before we issue them. Please use online to request them and we will issue or contact you when we know more.

Other than this facebook page and our website it is difficult to get this message out to so many of you at once. Please share this message wide and reach out to your loved ones and neighbours (remotely of course), so that they are aware of the above message.

Please bear with us, we are all trying our very best. Service levels may not be what any of us would like or expect but be assured we will be doing our utmost to keep you all cared for during this time.

We wish you all good health.

From all the entire team at Dr Cakebread and Partners
