Antenatal Care

Routine antenatal check-ups by a qualified midwife.

Time: Monday AM, Tuesday and Friday PM


Regular check-ups and advice from practice nurses on lifestyle, inhaler techniques and medication.

Time: Make a routine Asthma appointment with the Asthma Nurse

Child Health Clinic

These clinics are by appointment and are held by the Practice Nurses

Time: Wednesdays 2 pm to 4 pm

Coil Fitting

Coils are fitted by either Dr. Griffith or Margaret Hamilton. You must make a routine appointment to see either of the Doctors, who will advise you when to make the appointment for a fitting

Coronary Heart Disease

Patients attending these appointments will initially see a Health Care Assistant for routine tests e.g. blood test/ blood pressure reading and urine analysis.  The HCA will then make a follow up appointment with an appropriate Practice Nurse.  Dr Sri Narayanan oversees these clinics.

Counselling is accessed via your Doctor

Diabetes Clinic

Patients attending these appointments will initially see a Health Care Assistant for routine tests e.g. blood test/ blood pressure reading and urine analysis.  The HCA will then make a follow up appointment with an appropriate Practice Nurse.  Dr Roy Boodhun oversees these clinics.

Time: Appointment times by arrangement


Newly diagnosed Diabetics will be offered an appointment with the Dietician. Established Diabetics can make a routine appointment as appropriate to their needs. Doctors may also refer other Patients with appropriate medical conditions to the Dietician

Time: Fridays  9.30 am to 12.15 pm

Family Planning

Advice on contraception including coil fitting and implants

Time: Routine appointments with either a Doctor or the Nurse Practitioner

Minor Illnesses

Our Nurse Practitioner holds her own surgery and deals with Minor Illnesses, some of the illnesses and conditions that she treats are shown on the Other Information page of this website.

Time: Daily Monday to Friday inclusive


We hold clinics daily between 8 am and 9 am for fasting blood tests and 9 am to 11.20 am for non fasting blood tests (printed instructions for fasting procedures are available at Reception). All blood tests are only at the request of either a GP or the Hospital and must be booked in advance. Blood tests are processed at Bedford Hospital and we do not undertake blood tests for Lister Hospital


We hold a weekly clinic but we will accommodate Patients at other times during the week

Time: Wednesdays 08.00 to 11.15

Smoking Cessation Clinic

Initially by self referral, after which you will be contacted by either a Nurse or Health Care Assistant to make an appointment. After your initial appointment you will monitored and reviewed by the  Smoking Cessation Nurse/ HCA .  You can then telephone the Nurse/HCA to arrange for a repeat prescriptions

Time: Routine appointments with both the Doctor and the Smoking Cessation Nurse can be made as appropriate.


Routine travel vaccinations for all ages are available during surgery times by appointment with our nurses. You will be required to fill out a travel form and rreturn it to Recption before you can be seen for vaccinations.

We run a “flu” clinic in late September/early October, ask at reception for further information. Please note that we vaccinate those “at risk” first and the vaccination of other Patients is subject to the availability of vaccines. The Human Papilom Virus vaccine is available to those age groups as stated by the Department of Health

Please bring in the completed travel forms and an appointment will be made for you at Reception.
